Robert Redford is bringing the Sundance Film Festival to London for the first time, 26-29 April, choosing the O2 Arena to showcase the best in independent film. There’s a heavy smattering of documentaries, along with shorts and panel events.

There’s also a special focus on the relationship between music and film. Opening night will see An Evening With Robert Redford and T Bone Burnett where the Oscar winner will be in conversation with the 12-time Grammy winner about a career that includes scoring for the Coen brothers and current box office hit The Hunger Games.

Robert Redford attended The O2 on 15th March 2011 for the initial announcement of Sundance London, taking place at The O2 from 26-29 April 2012

The Sundance Kid himself will be back to introduce the environmentally conscious documentary Harmony, narrated by HRH The Prince of Wales, a film that highlights the work being done by environmental activists, architects and visionaries to secure a greener future.

Folk stars Rufus and Martha Wainwright will be giving an intimate performance to follow the premiere of Sing Me the Songs That Say I Love You: A Concert for Kate McGarrigle, a film portrait of their mother.

And there’s even more for music lovers in Coming Up For Air, a behind-the-scenes journey with Placebo on their Battle for the Sun tour. The worldwide premiere will include a Q&A with the band and be followed by Placebo in concert.

And for something completely different… Cult hero Crispin Glover will attend a Q&A for River’s Edge, the 1987 story of a high school slacker who kills his girlfriend and invites friends (including Keanu Reeves) to view the body. The event marks 25 years since the film premiered at the Sundance Festival in Park City.

More information and tickets are available at the official site.
